If you'd rather leave it to the professionals, we can arrange installation through our trusted installation partners across Melbourne and surrounding areas in Victoria. Professional installation typically costs between AUD $1,000 and $2,000, depending on the pergola size, site conditions and complexity, and is usually completed by a 2–3 person team within one day. Your pergola is delivered before the install date, and the team handles assembly and any on-site adjustments. If you're outside Victoria, we provide detailed installation guides and ongoing technical support for you or your preferred installer.

One important note: in Victoria, a wall-mounted pergola attached to your home is generally treated as domestic building work and requires a registered building practitioner to install it, regardless of cost. A freestanding pergola under $10,000 does not. Requirements vary by state, so please confirm with your local building authority before you begin.
Both of our DIY ranges are designed to be installed without any trade experience — the choice mainly comes down to the look, budget and level of maintenance you're after.

Aluminium louvred pergolas are our premium, low-maintenance option and arrive as a complete kit. They feature adjustable louvres you can open for sunshine and airflow or close for shade and rain protection. Made from durable, corrosion- and rust-resistant aluminium, they never need painting or staining — occasional cleaning is all that's required. Choose between Sunrise (manual), Twilight (motorised, with integrated LED lighting) and Skyline Heavy Duty (for larger spans), in a wide range of standard sizes plus custom options, with accessories such as motorised blinds and lighting.

Timber pergolas, built using our pergola brackets, are the more flexible and budget-friendly route. The brackets are pre-engineered from heavy-duty 3 mm powder-coated steel, so no carpentry experience, complex joinery or angle calculations are needed — most projects go up in a single day. You choose the timber (popular options include treated pine, cypress and hardwood, readily available from suppliers such as Bunnings) and the size to suit your space, then finish it with the roofing of your choice, such as Colorbond®, polycarbonate panels or timber battens. Timber and roofing are sourced separately, which keeps freight costs down and lets you tailor the design to your home.

In short: choose aluminium for a sleek, all-in-one, low-maintenance finish, or timber for a flexible, natural look at a lower entry price.
Tools are not included in the kit. Installation only requires common household tools — a drill, a ladder and basic hand tools — with no specialised equipment needed, so most people already have everything on hand.
Beyond the pergola itself, a few potential costs depend on your specific project rather than being hidden fees:

Timber and roofing (timber pergolas only) — the brackets are included, but you source your own timber and roofing material locally, which keeps freight costs down.
Delivery — charged by size and location. Flat rates apply to bracket orders, and louvred pergolas range from $400 to $800 to metro areas. A crane truck, if required, or delivery to WA, TAS, NT and regional areas is quoted separately. Melbourne metro customers can ask about faster, cheaper local delivery.
Foundations — if you're installing on soil, grass, gravel or other soft ground, you'll need concrete footings or a slab first (footings are typically at least 450 × 450 mm). An existing concrete slab, decking or paved area usually needs no extra groundwork.
Stormwater connection — optional, and can be done during installation. We recommend a licensed plumber to ensure it complies with local regulations.
Building permit — if your site requires a permit, there may be council and consultant fees. We can recommend permit consultants and provide the supporting documentation.
Professional installation — optional; if you'd prefer not to DIY, installation through our partners is typically $1,000–$2,000.

What is the shipping cost for OUTMOS pergolas?
  • OUTMOS provides FLAT SHIPPING RATES on bracket orders based on order total prices. Please note that we cannot deliver to P.O. boxes and require a physical address for shipping.
  • For louvred pergolas, our standard shipping costs (directly to your home address) cover metro areas in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, and ACT. The shipping cost for 3x3m and 3x4m pergolas is $400. For 3x6m, 4x6m, 3x7m, and 3x8m pergolas, the cost is $650. The standard shipping cost for heavy duty 3x5m and 4x4m pergolas is $650. For heavy duty 4x5m, 4x6m, 4x8m pergolas, the cost is $800.

    Please note: This shipping cost does not include crane truck delivery cost. If a crane truck is required for the delivery, additional cost will apply based on the actual charges from couriers.
  • Melbourne Metro Same-Day Shipping Option: If you are in the Melbourne metro area, we offer local delivery that is faster and cheaper than standard shipping. Please contact us for a shipping quote.

Can I pick the pergola up from your store or arrange the shipping myself? 

Yes, you can pick up the items from our store in Melbourne. Alternatively, you could arrange the shipping yourself by selecting the pick-up option when checking out. 

Why is timber NOT included? 

Timber is not included because every timber pergola project is different. Customers may prefer different timber species, finishes, lengths, and styles depending on their budget, local climate, and design preferences.

Our pergola brackets are designed to suit standard timber sizes commonly available in Australia, so you can easily source suitable timber from local suppliers, timber yards, or retailers such as Bunnings.
